In Pinoy homes it's not unusual to find a statue of Mama Mary and Buddha in the same room. As well as new age crystals, a bagua and other lucky charms. Pinoys find no contradiction in this and will probably say there's no harm in trying them out all together. Malay natin, di ba?
It's probably a culture thing, our belief in agimat or amulets to ward off evil which were eventually replaced by rosaries and scapulars. And it's not just the Christians who follow certain beliefs in hopes of influencing their fortune. Watch your friendly neighborhood Muslim DVD vendor fan her wares with your money. Very supertitious? or very segurista?
